Reservation cancelled on my trip day (few hours before I get to the place)


I did my reservation about one month ago, on Aug 08 for my short trip to NY on Sep 02-03. I booked just one night at this hotel on booking.com and they sent me an email saying that they would hold an amount on my bank account as pre reservation and I was supposed to pay in cash by the time I checked in. That's totally fine, I'm used to it. But it was too good to be true!

The hole month passed by and ANY amount was pending on my bank account, even on the 5 days before my trip. So on Saturday, Sep 2nd, I went to the bank and took my money out once I would have to have some money with me on my trip, plus pay for this hotel. Until this time nothing happened and I thought everything was ok. While I was 15 minutes away to get to NY I opened my email to check the hotel address and I had gotten an email 30 minutes before saying that they couldn't reach my credit cart and I was supposed to resolve that and send all the information again. Ok I was going to do that when I saw another email, sent exactly 1 minute after, saying that my reservation had been canceled. 1 MINUTE AFTER! How could I have enough time to do everything in 1 min and they didn't even tried to get in touch with me at all. Then I called this hotel and ask about what just happened and if I could do something to save my reservation. The attendant told me that once the credit card is not reached the cancelation is automatically and she also said that they tried to charge my card other 2 times but I didn't get ANY email like that one that I got. What a lie. I asked to talk with the manager and he wasn't there on that Saturday. Oh great, what a terrible Costumer Care. And as my last try I asked if they had some other room available and THEY DONT BOOK ANY ROOM AFTER A CERTAIN TIME! It was around 6:50 and what kind of hotel don't accept any booking otherwise if they don't have any room? I think it was ridiculous of them, I don't recommend this hotel for nobody else. Nobody deserve this kind of headache on your trip! The only good thing is that I'm not going to be charged anymore because they couldn't reached my credit card. At least I didn't loose my money on it because it has a certain period of time to cancel the reservation for free, but it had already passed.
